Candidates need to be active-status Divemasters, at minimum, to enrol in the program. They also need a valid medical (within the past year) and a valid CPR/First Aid/O2/AED certification (within the past 2 years)
SSI Instructor Training Course
As the name implies, the Instructor Course trains you to become a fully qualified scuba instructor, who can teach most scuba courses (including entry-level programs) in both confined rate and open water
The program consists of 2 components:
- Academic development: the bulk of this is done via self-study before you come for your in-water training. In addition, there are 14-20 hours of online classes
- In-Water training: these are conducted in a mix of the pool and open water, and help instructor candidates learn how to teach in those environments.
