The instructor team

Vandit Kalia (Vinnie)

Vinnie is the founder of Diveindia, and Bangalore Scuba is his passion project after 2 decades of running India's largest dive center. He is one of India's most experienced dive pros - diving since 1991, an instructor since 2001 and an instructor trainer since 2008. He's also an experienced cold water/trimix diver, having spent the first decade of his diving life in the cold waters of the North Atlantic, including diving the Andrea Doria (regarded as the Mt Everest of wreck diving.

Vidit

Vidit Dawda

Vidit gave up a career as a management consultant to become a dive pro in 2016. After spending several years teaching in the Andamans, he's moved to Bangalore and teaches with Bangalore Scuba. In addition to teaching, he also handles the operational details of keeping a dive center running and is one of the leaders of the various trips we run - although getting him to leave the pool is a challenge, which forces Vinnie to take trips to places like Raja Ampat instead! 🙂

Why learn in Bangalore

Having a dive center in your home town provides a lot of benefits.

To start with, the ability to complete a significant portion of your training at home lets you learn at your own pace without the time constraints of a holiday – you can take as long as you want to get comfortable and more importantly, save your precious vacation time for actually diving in the ocean.

In addition, you also have a “home base” – a place to network with other divers and have a group to go diving with, to get unbiased advice on equipment, dive trips and more, and also have a dive center that is there to support your journey as a diver.
