The candidate needs to be an active-status Divemaster, and have a valid medical form signed by doctor (within the past year) and also a valid CPR/First Aid/AED/O2 training certificate (within the past 2 years)
SSI Assistant Instructor Course
The SSI Assistant Instructor course certifies you to teach the theory and confined water portion of the OW course, as well some pool specialties, including Perfect Buoyancy
This is a great entry into teaching scuba, especially for people with regular jobs who cannot take several months off to do a full-time internship
The program consists of 3 components:
- Academic development: this can be done via self-study online, followed by 10+ hours of video/online sessions.
- Confined Water training: This typically consists of at least 2 sessions where you demonstrate the ability to teach a scuba program in a safe and fun manner
